We were tasked with the preparation of plans and specifications for the civil development of the 150mW energy plant Alta Wind Phase I. The design included 100 turbine locations and 25 miles of roads in mountainous terrain covering more than 2,000 acres. We provided aerial photogrammetry and LiDAR survey for site topographical coverage and current aerial backgrounds. Simultaneously, our survey crews were surveying existing facility locations and overheads for clearance of large transportation vehicles and equipment.
The survey crews also established boundary and prepared plats for existing and new easements. The engineering group generated 10 sub-phased packages for turnkey construction including roads, hydrology, and grading for turbine pads and storm drain improvement. Our Senior Engineer certified all work was in conformance with local ordinances and design intent.
KB Homes – Tract 6338
We are partnered with many engineering firms, and heavily involved with housing development. This particular tract was close to home for us. Our services included boundary and topographic surveys, land planning, plat and legal description preparation, construction staking, and final monumentation.

ABB contracted us to provide a complete as-built of an older switch yard proposed for upgrade. Our well experienced surveying department was up for the challenge at this large site in the San Francisco Bay Area with tall trees and urban development surrounding the site.
Static GPS survey methods were used to calibrate the project to recent record datum horizontally and vertically for site control. Using robotic instruments, we traversed through the site while performing a topographic survey. Our drafting department was able to present an extremely intuitive survey map to our client ahead of schedule and on budget.
We provided civil engineering and surveying services for a soft water expansion project. Our professionals performed GPS topographic surveys of the new expansion area and a 3D Laser Scan survey of the existing plant. We delivered an accurate and comprehensive 3D model of the existing plant to the design team engineering firms, which reduced costs and saved time by eliminating additional field trips by the various disciplines. Working closely with the other team design firms, construction supervisors, and operation supervisors, we were able to provide coordinated improvement plans for grading, erosion, hydrology, and storm water prevention, and we obtained permits in a timely fashion. Our surveying department provided site benchmarks for the contractors and verified layouts when requested.
